Last year i took care of two strays, both female, named Mel and Johnny (my roommate and i thought it was funny. actually, we named Johnny  after Johnny from The Room and later found out she was a female hahaha)

So! anyways we left for the summer and i was really worried when i got back and didn't see them for 2+ weeks that something had happened to them. My roommate informs me that she hadn't seen Mel for three weeks before she left, either, so we think something happened to her but.

TODAY when i left for class, high queen Johnathan was there, waiting for me. and meowing. she was clearly pissed at me.

Just for reference this cat is tiny, white and grey, with one eye that's whited out and scars all over her face. i kinda want to draw her but i can never get her to sit still. She's really skittish and i only just a few weeks before i left got her to let me pet her.

But! I fed the queen (wet food, my new roommate threw out all the dry food because it was attracting cockroaches) and i'm going to pick up some treats and whatnot for her while i'm out today! it lifted my mood greatly because i've been debating getting a dog but i don't have the money for a pet deposit right now.

Thank you for taking care of strays.  It really makes my day when people take time to take care of animals.  Look into getting them spayed/neutered if possible so they don't proliferate the plight of strays.  I plan on looking into getting a therapy pet of my own, given all that's happened this year.
